An overnight jump in swell brought clean six-to-eight-foot sets to El Sunzal for Day 2 of the 2026 Surf City El Salvador ISA World Longboard Championship. Women’s Main Rounds 1 and 2 were completed, along with men’s Main Round 2 and the first three heats of men’s Repechage 1.

Defending team champion France won all four of its heats. Two-time world champ Alice Lemoigne posted the women’s best total of the day, a 14.67 that included the division’s first excellent score (an 8.17), while newcomer Louis Marchiset put up a 15.77. Home favorite Sindy Portillo won two heats in her push for a Lima 2027 Pan American Games spot, 14-year-old Estorya Martinez of Puerto Rico got off to a strong start, and Ireland’s Tom Breen won a stacked heat over three longtime competitors.

The day’s best heat total, a 15.83, went to the Philippines’ Rogelio Esquievel with a backhand masterclass. Competition resumed Monday, October 19, with the rest of men’s Repechage 1.
